Newquay is Cornwall's hen and stag capital, and it is a beach weekend first: Fistral Beach for surfing, Towan and Great Western beaches right below the town, Lusty Glaze in its own cove, and Watergate Bay a few miles up the coast. Surf lessons, coasteering and paddleboarding all run from the town, and the South West Coast Path follows the headlands for a hangover walk.
The nightlife is concentrated on a few streets around Fore Street and Beach Road, so groups can walk between bars. It is a long way from most of the country — around five hours from London Paddington by train, or a flight into Newquay Airport — which is why most hen groups make a full weekend of it and rent a house together.
